How do you balance your mental health? Perhaps it’s a thing you do. Perhaps it’s a place you go. Perhaps it’s something you remind yourself of. How do you express your inner journey towards better mental health? This encaustic exhibit will feature works from artists around Ontario. The focus of the exhibit is how one takes care of themselves and their mental health.
Upwards Art Studio is pleased to present this encaustic show of work created by Ontario artists. The exhibition runs October 6-31, 2021 at Southampton Arts in Southampton, Ontario. Artists, along with their friends and family, are invited to attend an opening gala at the Gallery (pending Grey-Bruce Health Unit approval) on the evening of October 8, 2021. More details will be emailed to participating artists closer to the event.
This show will accept up to two (2) submissions per artist of encaustic artwork of up to 24”x24” 2D and/or up to 2’x2’ free-standing sculpture. Artwork will not be juried, however, the cohesiveness and space restrictions of the gallery will determine what artwork is selected. An artist statement, limited to 200 words, explaining the pertinence of the piece to the theme must be provided with each piece submitted. The cost for submission is $20+HST per piece. Participants must be a resident of Ontario. Please submit up to two (2) images per piece. The first image should be a flat-lay, top down view of the artwork. The second image should provide context for the artwork; how it hangs on the wall or is displayed.

Confirmation of acceptance will be emailed to each artist by August 29, 2021.
